This is the February 1982 unaired debate from The John Ankerberg Show on the topic: Is Salvation Dependent Upon Baptism? Water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism are discussed in light of there being only one baptism that people can obey. Debating are Jerry Jones and Gordon Lewis. Ankerberg refused to air this debate, claiming it would be bad for his TV ratings. Here it is.
@USAFreedomReform I have NO idea why this says "Comment removed." I cannot find anything in my video settings about this. Any clue?

@USAFreedomReform Little benefit of the doubt here, please. In fact, that's just a good rule of life, don't you agree? After you shared with me about your comments being removed, I went into my video settings to see why. At the same time, one fella kept character assassinating me, and he contributed nothing to the discussion--only tearing down. So I changed settings. I will never filter a comment by someone who has a different point of view. Character assassinations? Absolutely. Focus...

@Full4God
Well I see you have limited another aspect of your comment section to now approve all comments before they are uploaded.
I guess you are going to tell me you are new to you-tube and you don't know how it works again, huh.
You cant get the best if you screen comments.

@USAFreedomReform I happen to know Jerry Jones on a personal level. He is one of the most selfless men I have ever met. He loves people! And I have heard him admit to being wrong, so he is not above that. But, yeah, I can see how he comes across the way you describe, but only to people who don't know him. But, I will have to admit that he received salvoes from both sides ;-) Thanks for the apology...sending mine your way too!

@Full4God It is very hard to get a point across in so few words. I am after truth in the scripture, and not out to prove anyone wrong either.It can become frustrating and heated at times when it gets personal. If I have offended you in any form or fashion,I apologize and ask your forgivness. Jerry Jones just really bothers me the way he attacks the other party,and it seems he try ti confuse with his snappy answers.

@USAFreedomReform I am always happy to discuss Scripture. And I admit that I have been wrong about things in the past. I have changed my biblical perspective on a number of things already. So I am not above change or admitting when I am wrong. After all, it is only God's word that can make us united, for which Christ prayed. I am about unity in the Spirit, not proving I am right. Unfortunately, that is very hard to convey on a site such as this. God bless!!

@USAFreedomReform I am not sure what you are referring to about banning your follow-up comments. Perhaps I don't have this YouTube thing figured out right, but I have not banned your comments--that I know of. Even if you disagree with Jerry, it will not be banned. But, can we stick with discussing Scripture? Your TONE!!! suggests you are not really interested in a dialogue. Am I wrong?
Jerry is a fast talker...he has much to say and a short time to get it in. That is not "puffed up."

@USAFreedomReform You judged a man falsely, claiming to even know how he lives. You did it based on outward appearance, according to your own personality. In contrast, Jesus tells us to judge "with righteous judgment." (John 7:24) Righteous judgment comes only from the word of God, which you failed to use in your slanderous character assassination. God has this message for those who speak such: "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?" (Job 38:2) Judge righteously.

I know teenagers that would crush this Lewis guy in a debate. Not that that is the point, I believe the point is to share the truth, but this guy is a joke. He can't even articulate his own point of view.

Notice that at 2:22 Lewis disavows having said there are two baptisms. However in a later segment he accuses Jones of "having only one baptism." At that point Jones becomes visibly excited when he calls Lewis on it, asking, "Oh, so you're saying you have two baptisms now?"
Unfortunately there are 8 minutes missing from the DVD version of this debate series, which is on the original VHS tape. If I can get it transferred, I will post it. It deals with Acts 8 and Simon's need to repent.
