Take a ride with Derrick St. John as he goes for a prime during the 2011 Preston Street Criterium in Ottawa on June 19. This gives you a pretty good idea of what bike racing looks like from the rider's perspective. Note the big lunge up the inside of the final corner that wins Hans Loeffelholz the prime. Some of this footage will feature in Rogers TV's broadcast of the race on June 30 at 8 p.m.

  • @drilldeep07 A GoPro mounted on the handlebar with a homemade aluminum clamp (made from a cyclocross brake lever with the lever pivot sawn off). Plastic clamps are too flexible so you get a lot of vibration.

A company called Aceco now makes a similar mount under its K-Edge brand -- it's so new it's not on their website, but you can find it on Amazon.

I recorded the entire 1h15 race from cameras on two different bikes, and it was used for a tape-delay broadcast of the race on Rogers Ottawa.
