Nickelodeon Ident 1984

This is the 1984 Nickelodeon 'Silver Ball' campaign sign-off animation and jingle. Very nice early '80s computer animation. I believe this is the first campaign Nickelodeon used since its launch in 1980.

Ah, remember those classic shows. Rugrats, Hey Arnold, CatDog. So Nick what do you have to offer us now? Annoying bitches who do a webshow which sucks more than a vaccum, some girl who is the vice president of a fashion company that doesn't do any actual work, and an upcoming boy band show. Nick AND MTV have been in a downward spiral since 1998 or 1999 in my opinion. MTV doesn't even have music anymore.

I'm not old enough to remember this campaign. The first I ever saw of it was on VHS tapes of shows my dad taped. My mother clearly remembers "Pinwheel", but I don't think I personally remember any campaign before '89 or '90 (the whole post-modern look for the network). The only thing that seemed to stick from the beginning was that acid-neon color scheme until the new format started with the sleek Web 2.0 smooth-style.
