The video was a performance before the visiting people from SCINDEA (South Central India Network for Development Alternatives) at Project Development Institute's (PDI's) office in Quezon City, Philippines on September 9, 2008. Ibon was composed by Ramon T. Ayco in Cagayan Valley sometime in 1978. The lyrics was originally a poem published in Mod Magazine in 1976. The poem was based on a true to life experience of Mon Ayco's housemates who went on a vacation in their hometown in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte in 1976. In that vacation, they caught a bird in the forest and brought it to Quezon City. But after a few days, as they were playing with the bird, it had been able to escape.
