Stephen Archibald and his pal Hughie Restorick met film director Bill Douglas while skipping school. They both ended up starring in the award winning "My Childhood". Stephen went on to make another two films with Bill Douglas, "My Ain Folk" and "My Way Home". These became World Cinema Classics and were known as "The Bill Douglas Trilogy". Both Hugh Restorick and Bill Douglas have passed away, and in March 1998 so did Stephen. This film is the last interview he gave, just a few weeks before he died. It was done on location of the BBC Drama "Looking After Jojo" in Niddrie where Stephen grew up and near Newcraighall where Bill Douglas was from and the location of the trilogy films.

  • great upload. just heard about this interview years ago at a special showing of 'The Trilogy' at the Cameo. cheers pal

  • Very nice to see - a very sad interview, but glad it exists. Just wish there was a little more information available about Hughie Restorick - in his own way, I think he was just as affecting in 'the Trilogy'. Thanks for sharing.
