I have a SL-2300 it's a smaller version of the SL-5000

That looks remarkably good for a 1981 unit. In fact, it looks better than the VCR inside my 2003 CRT TV.

@Jediiii like the laserdisc of the VHS...

I own 3 beta vcrs and all do not work anymore, I used them a lot from 1980 to 1987. I kinda miss them. Betamax was wayyyy better that VHS IMHO.

I GOT TO GET ME THAT BETAMAX VCR YO!!

@cbehr91 though not to *nearly* the same extent it was on VHS.

@norge696 I dunno, even on a laptop screen there's an obvious difference bewteen 480p and 720p.
I prefer watching stuff as close to it's original resolution as possible given my laptop's limits (Movies and hDTV at 720p, older TV at 480p), but that's just me.

what a beast. I still don't understand why people care so much for high definition video. whenever I download movies they are always dvdrips and not blueray. as long as the picture is clear and watchable i'm a happy camper :)
is that a Zenith VHS VCR in the background or a Panasonic?

@IamFat32 It is a 1985 Magnavox, which is indeed a rebadged Panasonic.
