  • This is probably my favorite staging of this song. Are there any others that do this song where phantom catches Christine? I think it's better that way. :)

  • @katdancer93 The London production always does the catch, and Broadway always doesn't. Some rule that has to do with actor safety or something, I forget.

I agree, it is better, but only when the Phantom lets her fall a little before he catches her, to make it look more realistic (like Earl did).

  • Head voice? Chest voice? Bass-baritone voice?

Naw. Earl just goes straight into the separate paradigm of the "I AM AWESOME" voice. There is no fluctuation from it. 'Nuff said.

  • I've seen him 2nd january 2012. He is so amazing, im flashed of his voice. I love his voice. I'm so impressed about his performance of the phantom. So said, that I live in germany.

  • I think that it's a shame that in the concert versions of Les Mis and POTO Carpenter was barely used :(

  • When I saw Phantom for the first time, I thought it was perfection. I thought it couldn't be improved in any way. Then when I went to see it for the second time, Earl was playing the Phantom, and OH MY GOD! Ten times better than the first time! His whole performance gave me chills, and I cried in the final lair scene. In fact, he cried too. Damn, he's good!

  • @cpjc08 so in other words mix?

  • 'Let your soul take you where you long to be' the most powerful line from the song. I'm fortunate enough to see him in February, more videos of Earl are needed!

  • I love the London production, and how they do the "soar" behind christine instead of by the organ. Earl is wonderful!

  • I just watched it last week. His performance was MESMERISING! He truly took my breath away...

  • Cant hear it sounds good tho

  • @Kcolibri1981 I was there too! His performance really was amazing :)

  • @clairetm63 Yup, I was aware :P
