With humble regards due to the civilians at the military base, the Taliban did pass out leaflets telling workers NOT to work with the U.S. Forces...what could hurt your enemy more than taking out its workforce?
The facts still stand: targeting government and military sites instead of random civilians at mosques, markets, or roadside checkpoints in hopes to kill very few enemy combatants IS more sophisticated, in terms of war.

It maybe totally insane, but that's what was meant. You may not think it, but it is more sophisticated to attack your enemy than random civilians.
You are also taking two different incidents and combining them into one. One was at a U.S. Military base a few km from the city center, the other was at an Afghan government building in the city center the previous day.
The woman's report about sophistication was at the Afghan government building, which was before the carbomb.

"Only in a distorted report could any one perceive that the Taliban are upping their game. A perception the report infers even to you." Sorry, but that's not my view, it's yours."This report is viewed by Muslims. Muslims that will take from that report well the Taliban is doing great i think i will go join them."
Like I said before...You are missing the point. Like I also said I don't allow others' viewpoints to interfere with the truth. If you reread carefully I said "not that they are."

This idea that the Taliban are now engaging in the common rules of war...minimize civilian casualty and targeting only aggressors is totally insane. The only people that where reporte to have died from this incident were Afghans laborers. So here is the final out come of the Talibans sophisticated "strategy" 9 Afghan workers killed and 11 Taliban fighters killed. Only in a distorted report could any one perceive that the Taliban are upping their game. A perception the report infers even to you.

What is meant by "sophisticated" is the idea (not that they are) the Taliban are now engaging in the common rules of war...minimize civilian casualty and targeting only aggressors. The idea that the individual battle tactics have become "sophisticated" is not what was meant.

I can see your point and it's well founded. I see the world from the viewpoint of not allowing others' (especially that of the corporate controlled media) to influence my take on any given situation, the truth will reveal itself.
Besides, if you see a report on a dozen or so Taliban fighters getting outright slaughtered, not one survivor, then think to yourself they're doing great; you may have other significant issues to deal with other than feeling like Rambo with the Predator after you. ;-)

I think your missing my point. This report is viewed by Muslims. Muslims that will take from that report well the Taliban is doing great i think i will go join them. Then they show up thinking their Rambo and have sophisticated tactics. They get a AK shoved in there arms and then a predator drone wastes them. Then America is the bad guy again because the untrained idiot was hiding with civilians. If the media would report accurately all that could be avoided.

That does not make the attacks more sophisticated only more suicidal.

She was talking about the Taliban targeting government buildings now...not just public places, road sides and check points, or what the colonel calls "soft targets."

Nothing they used the wrong word i think he means to say "slightly more tactical"
