For the past year, Maine Governor Paul LePage has refused to meet publicly with unemployed people in Maine and hear their concerns.
Instead, he has mocked the unemployed in public meetings and proposed cuts to and restrictions on programs that help out-of-work people in Maine.
After a march and protest outside the governor's mansion, LePage agreed to meet with three unemployed Mainers. His staff refused to rule out making cuts to jobless programs.
