@VectorOmega They revived Darius five months ago on the PSP. It's called DariusBurst, and it's a traditional horizontal scrolling shooter. Square-Enix is supposedly going to localize it.

Is that game really the last Darius game? Guess Taito ran out of ideas on how we are going to fight off robot fishies, squid, 'eight foot umbrellas' and other evil robot marine life. Pity they didn't give us a robot mermaid to fight against.
PS. Does that mean they can't revive the series with an R-Type Command like sequel?
PPS. Note to Taito...if you do revive the Darius series, can you make a space mermaid or a robot mermaid a playable character/ship?

Ahh I love the Darius series. I always enjoyed how bright and colourful it is, as opposed to most shooters of its kind which tended to be either in space or post-apocalyptic or other stuff that was really dark.
