Raised as Americans in inner city projects near Seattle, three young Cambodian refugees each made a rash decision as a teenager that irrevocably shaped their destiny. Years later, facing deportation back to Cambodia, they find themselves caught between a tragic past and an uncertain future by a system that doesn't offer any second chances.

SENTENCED HOME premieres Tuesday, May 15 on Independent Lens, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Terrence Howard, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, Independent Lens is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide.

  • @Nvious6669 I agree with you that "it is very sad to see a family get torned apart for any reason" and your last statement/question.....People we do not see as "IMMIGRANT" - some Americans made mistakes, too, in their earlier stages in life. We all made mistakes...some learned from it and some doesn't. Freedom of speech, freedom of rights...I thought matters most is the outcome/result. Some did their time/consequences years back and rehabilitate very well still got called back & deported ???
