To determine if you have endometriosis ask for an MRI of the pelvis. When you get a copy of the report call HERS Foundation to discuss the findings. The new book, THE H WORD, is a good resource to find out what diagnostic studies should be done to evaluate symptoms, the alternatives in treatment, and who the best doctors are for that particular condition. It also has a lot of information for women who have had the surgery, about coping with the aftereffects. More at at w w w . thehword . org.

Most often effects of a hysterectomy do not happen right away.I have known many women that have had hysterectomys that have had to have their organs re-sutured after the sutures came out later in life and their organs began to fall or sag through their vaginal openings. Doctors do not always know everything. They hold a lot of flat world beliefs. I was almost a D&C because of a supposed "life threatening" condition she had. Turns out she was just pregnant. That doctor almost killed me.

I had a partial hysterectomy in an emergency situation 14 years ago. I never signed any release papers. I have not had any problems like the ones mentioned in this video. I still have a wonderful sex life with multiple orgasms. If I hadn't of had the hysterectomy, I would have died during child birth.

After hysterectomy/castration I only have feeling on one side of my clitoris and it's minimal at best. I very rarely can achieve an orgasm, and when I do, it only lasts about 3 seconds. Prior to the surgery, I was able to have multiple orgasms at almost any time and they were intense and pleasurable. I can't even get aroused now. If you are uneducated and believe the myth that this surgery is no big deal, you should watch a video of it being performed. It is very damaging and mutilating.

Esteemed Finding KC,I'm sorry about your experience, the only relief is that you're escaped from a worst disease.I suspect you suffered inadequate physical-psychologic "follow up". I know women hysterectomy-zed for fibroids, one suffered haemorragics, pain and other bad problems that prevent any sexual activity: now her life is surely improved, moreover I know some "undamaged" women suffering vaginismus and psychological problems that never reached orgasm nor "know how" get any orgasm.

According to the American College of Surgeons, the average age of hysterectomy is 42, well before menopause. Here's a quote from them:
"More than three-fourths of all women who have a hysterectomy are between 20 and 49 years of age."
You can find this information just about anywhere. I was only 33.
And believe me, decreased sexual feeling at natural menopause is way different than when having your sex organs removed. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

The uterus is a hormone responsive reproductive sex organ that has life-long functions. The ovaries are the gonads. Removal of the ovaries is castration. You have no way of knowing that the women you know who have had their female organs removed "have no problems", you only know what you are told or what you think they are experiencing. 98% of hysterectomies are not life saving there are other treatment options. Hysterectomy is a damaging, destructive surgery.
