  • Actually this set has to be later than 64 because transisters did not take on until 1965. This set is solid transisters.

  • Sony started making solid state TVs in 1960 with the TV 8 301

  • This set is 117V model so I guess it's american, which means it's NTSC, how did you convert the PAL signal to NTSC to be viewed properly on this tv?

  • Hi

I converted this set to run on the European

TV system but it still needs a transformer

to step down the ac voltage to 117.

  • Awesome! I have an old (1987) colour set from canada, are the procedures complicated to convert it? I guess in a B/W set all you have to do is reduce the V-Size and adjust the V-Hold, the sound is what I guess is much more difficult to convert, it's impossible to make it run in PAL colour though isn't it?

  • Hi

The easiest solution to make your TV work

is to buy a multisystem RF modulator

& use a DVD player set to NTSC video output.

(most have this in the menus)so it will work

    in colour

To convert the NTSC TV to PAL is very difficult.

  • Is that the smallest TV in the word ?

  • how the heck could you do that?!

  • I'll bet that cost a lot of money back then.....that was "space age" technology making a TV that small

  • I remember this TV well. Have not seen it in decades. Thanks!!

  • Wow 1964...... incredible!
