Got this slightly shaky HD video of a black bear crossing Hwy 19 at the Salt Springs Observation Trail.

  • It was pretty neat! I've seen a few others in Ocala too over the years. Mostly in the early morning or late evening though.

  • Seems like that's probably a pretty reliable place to see that bear cross. See on the power pole where he had likely marked it on previous crossings. Needs to be a bear crossing sign right there if I'm right.

  • Saw a mother and 2 baby bears in the Ocala national forest in 2005 they were running in an out of the woods way in front of where we were walking so cool!

  • I hiked Ocala twice for a weak each time and saw only two bears. One at Salt Springs and the other in Juniper Prarie

  • hot a whole lot of places left for the Florida black bear.sad

  • Great Video! I lived in Ocala & G'ville for 20+ years & never saw a bear. Saw them in TN,GA,SC,Arkansas...Thanks for the video!

  • That would be an awesome sight.  I've yet to see a bear out there. I need to go to Ocala ; )
