If you want to transfer your final drawing onto a watercolor paper or a canvas you could use a tracing paper to do that job using a graphite stick.

  • I've done this many times. I think there is a better technique though. You can download SimmTrace (free) and use a webcam (an $18 one works fine) and project the webcam onto your drawing board and trace the digital image from your screen. The thickness of your paper doesn't matter and the detail is better mostly because it is an original tracing and not a copy of a tracing. I still do what you just showed even with 140 lb. paper though if I only want outlines.
