Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor - and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me 'to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God...'" G. Washington

@TheStarTreker Officially acknowledging God or endorsing religious ideas does not constitute an establishment of religion. The Congress that drafted the 1st Amendment and imposed its limitation on its own power did not behave in a manner that suggests it intended to prohibit such acknowledgments or endorsements as it did both regularly.

@TheStarTreker "One nation under God" is by no means unconstitutional.
We are and always have been a Christian nation in our people, customs, and traditions. No nation founded on the 'self evident truth' that man has rights iven to him by God can be defined as secular.

Yeah I bet Jesus would be so proud of you murdering people that are probably good, honest, caring, or the nicest people on the planet. Yeah it's okay murdering millions that don't share the same views, beliefs, or don't share the same philosophy that you do. You know what that makes you no different than what Adolf Hitler done, murdering millions of Jews.

@TheStarTreker The day will come when the streets will flow with the blood of the non believers!

Lmao. A typical ignorant Christian that loves making threats against Atheists. How Christian of you. Hahaha.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

@TheStarTreker its not unconstitutional you nubb. Atheists should be burned at the steak. they deserve to die

Yeah but one problem, the "one nation under God" is unconstitutional and needs to be removed. Yes the majority of America is Christian and sorry but it's NOT a Christian nation. It's a secular nation with the freedom of religion, the separation of church and state. A nation of many different cultures, that's America, my friend. If anyone does not want to be part of this multicultural/secular nation can get out. ;)

@pastafarianprophet Only the fool hath said in his heart there is no God. Yuo are going to hell dude.!
Atheists are actively and often openly and LEGALLY discriminated against, yet Christians are constantly whining about being persecuted--often just on the basis of someone preferring to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christimas".
