The First Degree Black Belt candidate must show meet minimum physical fitness levels, must master Korean terminology, be familiar with the history of the art, and write a paper on their personal jouney in Tae Kwon Do.
After the written test, a physical fitness exam is taken.
The following day, actual Tae Kwon Do skills are evaluated. Forms, self defense, sparring, and block or board breaking are tested. Michael, in Blue padding, is 14, and testing for his 1st degree Black Belt. His opponent, is testing for her 2nd degree Black Belt.
