I hate this government and its meanness to those with special needs. This government gives tax cuts to the richest people, and gives them our resources for damn near free. I also don't like the missing apostrophes in the video, but I wouldn't advocate the Guillotine for the apostrophe-missers;)

I hear your concern, and its unfortunate that some of it may be true,but as a home sharer I feel you are not giving us a fair reveiw. There are some great caregivers out here and yes true it may not be a forever home,but that is life,and sometimes new experiences are actually great things.I have been home sharing for ten years and it has been a great experience for us all.It can be a positive situation,and if family stays involved and monitors it can be successfull.

@channy927 Not every home share will be a nightmare. But we know from the many cases of neglect and death in "home share" called foster care, through Child and Family Services, that neglect, assault and deaths will happen. I'm glad you are having positive experiences. Best of luck to you.

A really nice song. The melody is beautiful yet the lyric isn't sacharin, it still has earthiness. There is a nice combo of almost classical picking and some sort of compressed acoustic guitar chord playing going on around two thirds through it.

@CurtisMateer Thanks for that. You are right on the acoustic. It is a martin dr, both finger picked and strummed. I wrote a song for my eldest daughter 26 years ago (Lullaby to Asia) and my youngest was 18 when she asked why there was no song for her. This is what I wrote.

I DON'T MEAN TO BE LOUD BUT WHY CAN'T THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE LIVING WITH THEIR FAMILIES ANYMORE JUST LEARN ENOUGH ABOUT THE LAW TO NOT LET THEM PUT THEM IN GROUP HOMES IN THE FIRST PLACE AND BE IMANCIPATED INSTEAD. I also have to say that if just one disabled person is the victim of an abuser or abusive person that is too much. the thats life comment you made for some reason negates a caring attitiude which makes me question your sincerity and says beleive me/eith no proof and it would be a more humane/caring option to have it as an option. to be in a private home or group home

@gypsymarika My daughter will live with me as long as she wants and as long as my wife and I are able to care for her. If she ends up with CLBC telling her where to live, I want to see all options for her, not just foster care (renamed home share to make it more palatable). Group homes are a good option and need to be kept in play. Unfortunately, according to my CLBC Facilitator, it is "CLBC Policy" that the homes will close.

I wholeheartedly share your sentiments. As a caregiver of two individuals with disabilities, and having years of experience in supporting people with disabilities, I think it is unfair to portray ALL of home sharing situations in such a negative light. .
