The Amsterdam Sauer Museum of Rare Minerals and Precious Stones, located Ipanema, in Rio de Janeiro, is the most complete private gemstone museum in South America.

The collection is the result of almost seventy years of dedication of Jules Roger Sauer and includes more than three thousand rough and cut gemstones, such as emeralds, rubellites, aquamarines, tourmalines, and imperial topazes. Some of the stones were already featured on the Guinness Book of Records.

The Museum, founded in 1989, is the only one to exhibit replicas of mines of emerald, aquamarine and tourmaline mines, the most representative Brazilian colored stones.

Internationally awarded jewelry is also in exhibition, as well as giant rough crystals.
