I completely agree with you, amadeus9man. His music is so sweetly touching, and the string sonorities are exquisite.

Lawes is astounding for what he brings to music history at such an early date. His consort sets are up there with Beethoven's achievements in the late string quartets for me. Frankly, some of the most listenable music I know of. It never tires.
