The Pastel Six,
The Cinnamon Cinder (it's A Very Nice Dance) lyrics,,,

There's a place out Hollywood way
Where the crowd goes to play
They jump and shout and have a ball
And let me tell you that aint all

They do the CC Cinnamon Cinder... CC Cinnamon Cinder
CC Cinnamon Cinder... it's a very nice dance.

You can do any step you choose
It's a dance of rhythm and blues
Just shake your shoulder and shuffle your feet
And keep in time to that low down beat

And do the CC Cinnamon Cinder... CC Cinnamon Cinder
CC Cinnamon Cinder... it's a very nice dance.

You can dance right out of this world
So hey boy get a girl
And hey girl get a boy
And come on down to that land of joy.

And do the CC Cinnamon Cinder... CC Cinnamon Cinder
CC Cinnamon Cinder... it's a very nice dance.

  • rare, thanx so much for this post. this was such a cool song when I was in high school. me and a gal danced to this at a a prom or some other school dance and I fell in love with her ( I was a lousy dancer but so were all the rest of the boys).

  • @larrydh2 ...it's my pleasure

  • I remember going to the Cinnamom Cinder to see them perform in 1964...there were actually 7 of them! I was from a small town in Illinois and just not used to getting to see a group that made the charts...

  • Geez- I can't get this crazy song out of my head!!! Especially its a very nice dance part :-)

  • If I remember right, Bob Eubanks ran the Cinnamom Cinder for a number of years...

  • I grew up in NY and my little 13 year old self just knew this was from California and the ZEN label I didn't even know what zen was until a few more years but it was good I never heard anything more of them I think it came out around the time California Sun by the Rivieras was out another california band I liked but I never heard another record from them either thanks for the posting

  • In October 1961, I recorded 2 demo's at WENTZELS Music Town in Downey, CA. The Pastels were the group Pop WENTZEL used as his studio musicians. They didn't know either song I did so I had to sing them acapella and they picked up on them that way. They did a great job and made me sound good. Search Jim Cava on YT and take a listen.

  • x-mas 1962 one hit wonder.
