In this video I show you how to extract vocals from a track if you have an instrumental version of it using a technique called phase inversion.

  • @romulopierotti means warping.

How haven't you heard of that if you make remixes dude!? Anyways good tutorial, very concise! I'll try it out and see how it works

  • @RaheemdaplayaO4 lol how am I supposed to get "warp marker" from "war mark" :P

in response, I would be inclined to avoid warping altogether when trying to phase invert, as introducing Live's warping algorithm would introduce many many discrepancies between the two files. Live uses "smart" algorithms that warp based on content. in this case it would see different source audio and therefore apply a distinct warp on each clip, allowing even less for the phase invert to cancel out.

  • @ryandmca hehehe And yes I agree with you 100% on that. I'm in some trouble with my attempts though because for some reason my instrumental is slightly slower than the album version. I think it's because they're from the 90's and may have been converted from Vinyl, don't really know what to do...

  • @RaheemdaplayaO4 ya you're screwed if it's not digital. no two vinyl rips will ever be the same.

  • why don't u do a war mark in the right begining of each track?? that would be easier to find the right spot..great vid thou

  • @romulopierotti not sure what you mean by this but i am curious. please elaborate for all of us!
