"Not that long ago you could go to the grocery store and get a two pound bread for one dollar on regular a basis, it was a good price. Now there is a sale, for $1.99, literally twice the price for the same two pound bread which is supposed to be a bargain, which means that families especially large ones, that used to use a staple item like sandwich, peanut butter and jelly, just two pieces of bread which would have been a meal, literally doubled their costs over night. The fact that Masbia is serving hungry and other places, is extradorinary, but what we have to remember is that people are on the brink of hunger without coming into soup kitchens as well, and if we can't get enough help getting people the money they need to buy their staple items without having to come here, we aren't doing enough. We want to put Masbia out of business, that's the ultimate goal. And the only way that will happen is with intervention by the government. As Assemblymen Ortiz, said if they are bailing out everyone else, they have to make sure to bail out the people in trouble."
