Superhumanoids' new single "Mikelah" (just out as a 7-inch on White Iris)which follows the release of their previous two EP's ,the L.A. quartet's strongest yet, and "Malta" was pretty strong.
On "Mikelah" the vocals give off a similar melancholic delivery that every Morrissey fan is so accustomed to. Instrumentally it digs deep to send you into a dream like state of hypnosis also the new song poses a sonic tug-of-war between Moz-like melancholy and winsome optimism, owing to the dueling entreaties of Cameron Parkins and Sarah Chernoff. Lightly coated with a sheen of synth, it's bottom-heavy enough to support three dream-pop songs.
The L.A. quartet with release the single on 7" vinyl through White Iris on June 21
