Latino Life is a half hour program produced by ABC30 and hosted by Graciela Moreno. The show focuses on issues impacting the Latino community and highlights positive contributions Latinos are making in the Valley.




For the first episode in 2010, TKHCC Executive Director, Raymond Macareno, was invited to be a guest to share the many business benefits and services of the Hispanic chamber. During the interview the audience learned more about the Hispanic Times Newsletter; purpose of the publication, membership, networking mixers and upcoming events. Macareno started the conversation with the chambers theme for 2010: The more hands you shake, the more money you make. Including that the goal of the chamber is to facilitate networking opportunities and exposure for its members.




The next topic discussed was the purpose of the Hispanic Times newsletter and the intended goal for readers. Macareno shared that the publication is geared to educate the community as well as give recognition and exposure to chamber members on their business experience and community participation. Articles and press releases are submitted by members to promote community projects to fundraisers to business advice from business professional. All members are encouraged to share with readers what is actively taking place within their business, like promotions, as well as their contribution out in the community.




Macareno shares with Moreno how like Latino Life, [the Hispanic chamber] focuses on people, events and activities that affect the Hispanic community. This is an ongoing goal of the chamber to utilize its Hispanic Times newsletter that has a circulation of 25,000.




Macareno shared the past events of the chamber like the theater play Frida which was performed in English and Spanish in Visalia as well as the annual Chile Verde Golf Tournament in September and Business Awards Dinner last November. Furthermore, the upcoming events for the chamber including the Networking mixer with the Sequoia Beverage Company in mid January and the planning of the first chamber sponsored Cinco De Mayo parade in Visalia.

Graciela Moreno is not only the host of Latino Life but since February 1997 she also co-anchors the weekday editions of Action News at Six and Eleven with Warren Armstrong.
