  • This video is awesome!! I can't stop watching it, it's perfect for Barnabas and Josett. I just discovered Dark Shadows on netflix a few months ago and I am completely hooked! I am madly in love with Jonathan Frid!! It's the best TV show I've ever seen, so glad I found it!! Thank you for this video!!

  • @Stickchick1969 I am as pleased as punch that you like it. I always wanted him to find his Josette. It always fascinates me--the reaction to our quaint little show and Mr. Frid's Barnabas, in particular. 1795 is my favorite time period. I'm a fan from the very first day in 1966. It is an extremely addictive show.

  • @ThymeBottle I also loved the 1795 period. The costumes were fantastic and the love story of Barnabas and Josett is so sad, just like Romeo and Juliet. I have been looking up videos of Mr Frid and I found one with him on What's My Line and The Generation Gap. Boy he was like The Beatles of TV!! In case you havent figured it out, I'm not old enough to remember Dark Shadows, it's all new to me and very very exciting! Thanks again for sharing Dark Shadows with me!

  • @Stickchick1969 I'm old enough to remember seeing him on those shows during their original broadcasts, plus one on The Mike Douglas Show, two, I believe, on The Dick Cavett Show. On Cavett's show, he recited this mournful line from Richard II: "Let us sit upon the ground and tell sad stories of the death of kings." He had the audience spellbound. Yes, he was very popular. He came to our town to star in the Windmill Dinner Theater presentation of "Wait Until Dark" back in 1971.

  • @Stickchick1969 It tickles me to read and hear the reactions of new DS fans who are discovering Mr. Frid for the first time. I was watching the Leviathan/Parallel Time 1970 discs the other night and was amazed at how much sympathy I had for him as the vampire curse returned. He is a commanding presence: eyes, voice, movements, and a face for the shadows. Willie freed the best vampire ever; a good place to begin. I agree about 1795; wish they were using that era in the new movie.

  • Thank you so much for sharing the past with us. The memories rush back and a childhood remembered. Your work is truly amazing and so apperciated. Again THANK YOU!

  • @Pageponderer Oh, my. Well, thank you, in return, for viewing. Your comments have made my day. This show was so unique. We were fortunate to have such a timeless love story as theirs to look back upon.

  • One of the best videos I've seen of this beloved couple who made the show what it was. Sad that Barnabas could never really find true love everlasting after Josette and was never truly happy after her. Jonathan Frid's portrayal of the reluctant vampire was out of this world and had me mesmerized from day one-I fell in love with him and no one else's portrayal ,not even Johnny Depp's will ever compare.

  • @ThymeBottle Thanks for writing back, your artwork is fantastic! I love the whole show but it is definitly Mr Frid who drew me in and has me spellbound! I started watching it on Netflix streaming a few months ago and they started it where Willie let's Barnabas out of his coffin in 1967. I was immeadiately taken by Jonathan Frid, he is brilliant!!

  • @Englishlass I so agree. Thanks for viewing.
