  • So much of this organ music is recorded with poor audio equipment, leading to noise in the background. I really wanna listen to this cleanly :(

  • @anonymous4698 Interesting. I listened to it again, with good headphones. I believe the noise you refer are the organ blowers. They're very quiet, but not inaudible, even in person. If you're in Williamsburg, stop by and I'll play it for you :)

  • Norman - you are just superb! Thank you for sharing this with us... I actually listened to this 3 times in a row: once concentrating on your hands and feet in relation to the music sheet; once with my eyes closed and my headphones on (Recording studio quality), and once again because I caught myself holding my breath in your phrasing and then gently exhaling in pure joy!

Could I ask the names of the voices/stops you've used from the topmost keyboard and going down each level? Thanks again! :)

  • @needmorebeads Glad you enjoyed it. It's a mix of flutes. The top manual (swell) is a stopped diapason 8' and harmonic flute 4'. The bottom two manuals are coupled together, so my hands don't get tangled trying to play the same keyboard. It's a flute celeste 8' and a koppel flute 4'. The pedal is a soft 8' lieblich gedeckt. Unfortunately the pedal part isn't visible in the video, but it's a double part; that is, the left foot is playing to low rumble, the right foot playing the upper tone.

  • How did you do that ??

  • @Lineallly Practice :). For some reason, the video + audio are slightly out of sync in places. Next time I play this I'll get a better recording. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • That was beautiful. Any chance you could record "The Lion's Royal March"?

  • You played it magnificently, it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. THANK YOU.

  • @thetejbzman Yes, organs have a keyboard for the feet.
