Fantastic footage of Bradman and others playing cricket in the 1930s. Not Paul's best song but a nice tribute to a true Australian legend

I think its high time that my Indian brothers (those suppporting Tendular) agree that Bradman was the greatest batsman ever . Every other cricketer is jostling to be second best . In fact Bradman was the greatest sportsman who dominated his sport like no one has ever done in their discipline .
When Americans build their 'Greatest Sportsman " lists , it is difficult to make them understand as to how good Bradman was .....but i would expect something better from all the "Tendulkar" fans !!

Viv Richards was better than Tendulkar, as was Gary Sobers. By a country mile. You've probably never heard of them, though.

@ludocrat It is a beautiful story Bradman is the best that will ever be! But if he said that as a pom, k1w1, seth efrican or inidian he would have been a cocky b'stard who needs to shut up! ;)

I'm an Indian and I say Sachin is the greatest cricketer ever, Bradman is second. Vice versa is true for Aussies. Neutrals just get the fuck off

Love it but I didnt know Andrew Denton could sing. :p

Not much more to say about Sir Donald - he really is the best batsman the world has ever seen.
That said, Harold Larwood was and is possibly the greatest fast bowler of his and any other day - anyone who could curb Bradman, bodyline notwithstanding, had to be good - really good. Let's give some credit to Harold.

Tendulkar is the best of the flat track bullies (and he still only averages 55). Bradman scored his runs against great spinners and fast bowlers alike on uncoverered wickets more freely than Tendulkar ever did or will in easier conditions.
As far as I'm concerned, that makes Bradman not twice as good as Tendulkar (the difference between the averages) but four times as goodr. He not only blew Tendulkar's century rate away, he did it on wet and green surfaces. Four times better!

Nice one. Wonderful.
Best Bradman story? He was (probably) asked once what he would average against today's bowlers. By 'today' I mean the early 1980s, when the question was (allegedly) asked. You know, the days of the West Indian superfast quartet etc. Well, Bradman answered confidently that he thought he'd probably manage an average of about 60. The surprised interrogator, sensing a scoop, asked why. And Bradman said "Well, son, I am nearly 80!"
Legend.

What a twat some of my fellow Indians are Bradman is the greatest and damn right it isn;t yorker which took out oldfield . Have some respect , anyone who comes close to 99.94 you can come tell me he is better than Bradman but considering he averages almost twice as much as the next guy I'll stick with Bradman being the greatest. Btw boy how good was Larwood and bloody quick at that too.
