I recently built this AK from a Bulgarian AK-74 parts kit in 5.45 X 39 that I ordered from Cope's distributing. This is my first time taking it out to the range for some test firing. I put 8 mags through it to check it for proper function, and after a slight modification to the the ejector rail elevation I had it running like a top. The gun is built on a Tapco improved AK 47 flat that I bent and built using Tapco's allen head screw set, G2 double hook trigger group, I also used tapco's axis pin retaining plate rather than try to use the Shepard's crook retaining method . This kit came with the compensator welded on and the bayonet lug welded over, so it was legal for import and I left them welded to be in compliance with the CT assault weapon laws. I'll be posting a slide show video to document my build step by step. I still need to heat treat the receiver and find a durable coating I can apply at home. Feel free to comment or ask questions, but no shooting technique or stance comments.

Sheesh, $668 for a Wasr 10? Those typically go for $400-500 (So-Cal here).

  • awesome man its nice to see a home made ak video of someone actually using the weapon, how much was your total? i live in california and they want $668.18 otd for a Romanian made wsar 10, i was shocked when he told me they wanted that much for it, so now im thinking of making my own rifle, what do you think i should do?

  • Looks like you took one of our kits and made one sweet rifle

  • where did you get the reviver from?

  • @normski262 Yeah my room mate went to school in Canada and he says the same thing! Luckily he lives here now.I buy him guns for Christmas and birthdays etc. God bless you for living under opression and not going nuts. Less government is better government!

  • @ddavefl Yeah all our guns are registered if you buy them from an ffl dealer!!

  • The bulgarian 74's are absolutely outstanding I dont know where the fairy tale has come from that they are inferior maybe 1 person says it and another beleives it.The guns and ammo ak47 complete book rated on the bulgy ak74 and it rated very hi.5 round groups at 100yrds 2.5-3.5 inch groups with iron sites. After reading the review by an ar15 lover {who now loves the bulgy 74}I bought one.

  • @mrtampenski This is at the DEP run range in Glastonbury. It's open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 2:00 It's free, but you have to call Monday morning to reserve a spot for the weekend.
