Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory
Overture 1928

played by Christoph Böhm on 12th September 2009

Here I am back again with another Dream Theater cover. This time I use the Fractal Audio Axe FX Ultra (which I got some weeks ago) using the latest and the greatest firmware version 8.02. The guitar is directly recorded using the Axe FX into the PC.

You can find the presets that I used in this video on my website: http://cyaone.com/2009/09/dream-theater-cover-overture-1928-strange-deja-vu-u...

Thank you for watching!

  • ok so i am new to these fancy effects processer things. Is it just a system that you hook up to an amplifier or is it like an amplifier head itself?

  • @topdog2328 It's basically a preamp with preamp, power amp and cabinet simulation and integrated effects. You need a separate power amp to make it loud or some kind of active monitors like I'm using.

  • Nice played. Is the guitar that you are using Ibanez RX2020? My dad has the same model. :)

  • @albannurkollari Thank you! Yes, it is an Ibanez RG 2020XTBL. Besides the pickups it's a great guitar :)

  • That's fucking Awesome ! What kind of setting do you use on your Axe FX? Its sound pretty much like Petrucci Sound :O!

  • @ilikeshred Thank you :)

You can find the Sysex-Files for the sounds I was using in this video on my website (URL can be found in the video description).

  • that was EXCELLENT. Axe FX is TERRIFYING. It's like having every head ever in one setup. It amazes me, yet somehow pisses me off. Fantastic performance!

  • If I were a girl I wold marry you because of the way you play at 00:42 - 00:45 lol
