Angela Lansbury flubs a few lines (something that happens again later during By the Sea) in this preview performance of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, her first before a live theater audience.

  • lol poor Angela :P

  • Wow she botched a good 40 seconds of that song. Not gunna lie, that was pretty bad, but still, I have to give her props for getting back on and everything and really owning the rest of it, not to mention the fact that this piece has absolutely crazy accompaniment.

  • That is probably one of the MOST DIFFICULT of Sondheim lyrics to execute, besides the ever-fast "Not Getting Married Today" from Company, which is not sung, but kinda spoken.... geez that must have been mortifying for her, but she pulled it back together as the pro Angela always does!

  • it doesn't mind that she makes a mistake! she's so wonderful! :P

  • most interesting -- even a genius like Lansbury needs previews to "get there" -- thanks for posting

  • Omg... even i got confused at the start, i was trying to remember it myself while she was... and i just couldnt.. she must of hated that... bless her!

  • Well done angie you r a pro at getting it back together

  • @thebradybunchlover right at the beginning, it's pretty obvious

  • Wheres the blooper at? i can't ear it good.

  • Not fair............. the pit was along way from the stage action. The set was huge!
