The latest addition to Toyota's rapidly expanding Prius family is the entry-level Prius C, which made its U.S. debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Equipped with smaller version of the Prius Liftback's hybrid drive system, the C goes on sale in March with a base sticker price of around $19,000.

  • 53/46 ...

  • Who cares if its lithium ion or nickel metal hydride..its gets 50mpg. But again why do hybrids and eco boxes have to look gay. Every one of them looks gay. Making being green gay subconsciously. Take the new frs why cant they make that a hybrid...make a cool lookin rig and it will sell. Price starts at $19k? That means $22k at the stealership and $23k for the top of the line means $28k+...

  • Why won't they do lithium-ion dammit?!?

  • Awesome. I need an affordable Toyota vehicle with great mileage and a great price. Just might be my vehicle of choice to drive to the base every morning

  • Just lost my interest in the "C" model. Same MPG as my current Prius. Compared to the cost of a conventional small car this is nothing to brag about. You lose Toyota.

  • It looks just a Priis. They should have stuck with the concept look, now that was sharp. This is no big deal unless it gets 80 to 90 GPM.

  • It is smaller than the original Prius, I don't really care much for the styling, and the interior looks like a plastic wonderland, but it's really hard to argue with 50 mpg combined and a starting price under $19k. This thing would make a great city commuter. But I am kind of wondering why the mileage isn't much better than the normal Prius.

  • Why would you want 3 more mpg (now 53 mpg) than the previous generation but sacrifice the space? It seriously looks very small to me!

  • nice hair!

    haha

  • According to the test of Japan's motor journalist, the surprising silence realized by the car of this class was emphasized.

Moreover, it was being said that a 50kg weight saving operated more happily as compared with conventional Prius.
