And now for something completely different.
You guys are aware I make games as a hobby right?
*THIS IS FROM A VERY EARLY VERSION AND THERE ARE STILL GRAPHICAL AND AUDIO ANOMALIES.*
Sound effects are currently very loud, for example, and Vic Viper's sprite messes up for a split second at the start of a level. The game also thinks this is stage one (hench the "Destroy them all" sound clip.) This will be altered.
Mis-spellings and very poor grammar in the intro are intentional, as the intro is a parody of the MSX Gradius game intros.
This is my friend, Ash, whom you might know as MI7Spike. He will be beta testing bosses, (basically, as they're "finished") from this project. It's current name is "Shoot the Core".
With the recent loss of Stronghold's data, i've decided to go and make something much simplier for now. This is it.
You can see more sprites http://www.gamestone.co.uk/gradius/forumvb/showthread.php?t=2265 at this thread on Gamestone.
This video contains a basic intro (needs more polish), and the first version of the Loop 1 Killer Dwarf boss fight. It is originally taken from Nemesis 3 on the MSX, and has had several attacks added to the mix. I am considering making the Loop 1 fight easier, which would make this version Loop 2. (You're all aware Gradius games loop right?)
This is Part 1. Will my friend best this boss?
More information will be forthcoming, but watch this channel.
As previously mentioned, this is an early version with certain things disabled for testing. (such as the death animation and loosing your power ups.) I am also taking my friend's opinion into account, and the final version of this fight should have several of the annoyances removed. This is why it's called testing folks. :)
Come on Ash! Come BETWEEN the bullets!, Don't go around them when you know there's a tentacle(or something) that moves up and down!, YOU'LL HIT THEM! XD
lol..... easy to dodge, true

I think he's only doing Gradius/Salamander bosses at the moment, but you could probably suggest a parodius boss to get a Gradius make over, like Burning Core and Core Formation.

I guess after mastering many difficult bosses, you can make some of your own.

Gradius games a notoriously hard. I still haven't beaten the original NES game. :( Or Contra 4 on Hard Mode for that matter.
Damn you, college, for forcing me to lag in my gaming skills!!!

Nice job Ace but you should include some true last boss in end of second loop ;) that would surprise people, a flying escaping brain of venom or something

You're so evil Ace. I know you enjoyed every death. Poor guy... Awesome game so far I must say.
