  • @tim10000tw The last Carburettor budget car that was produced in South Africa was in 2006...the VW Citi golf 1.4

  • My X-Bow has this engine! I tuned it to 325 PS with a K04-Charger... :)

  • @warninshoarmy hahaha no!

  • can anyone explain to me how the typical FSI engine works? I dont understand. thanks

  • TFSI with TURBOCHARGER in 1.2,1.4,1.8,2.0 litres engines are over 100 L/ 100 km.

  • agreed to jonray74, they do build up bunch a junk...and yes all manufacturers make Direct injection, cuz guess what.....after bout 40 or 50 or 60k miles your warranty runs out,........its so you go and fix it, lots of ppl go to shops or even dealers, thats just to make business for business ..that's how cars are built today. on purpose, to make money,.....but hey,. they look good..........(cars i mean)

  • @d712k all cars in the market now uses direct inject, manufactures havn't used carburetors since the 1970s and 80s

  • @brknpixel

Audi/VW engines are engineered to handle +400hp with stock internals.

But they're limited to 200 or so hp (7.5psi max boost) because a flat torque curve is ideal in premium cars.

1qt per 3k miles and my engine would be dry before the 10k service interval came up. Dunno what the hell is wrong with your engine but mine runs fine.

  • all DI engine sucks as it builds up gunk in the intake valves.

  • @d712k But thats where you are wrong. I hardly doubt direct injection is to blame. Its the driver of the car.

An engine that's driven just a mile or two to the store every day will actually take damage on the inside, since it cant reach optimal working temperature, and burn up the soot and crap that were made when it was running cold.

I also doubt direct injection is cheaper to make. The only reason to make it is the emission demands the manufacturers have to follow. Especially in Europe.
