This video suggests that most of the bombing was in the North but North Vietnam absorbed a relatively small part of bombs during the American war. Facts:

More than twice the tonnage of bombs dropped during the WWII Pacific War was deposited on the South by the US - some 7,000,000 total tons of bombs or about 60% . Another 1.5 million tons hit Laos and Cambodia. NVN received approx. one million tons of bombs, or between 10-15% of the total. The land of US ally SVN took most of the bomb load.
