@DFP1987 there are also some conspiracy theorists out there that posit that USAC and/or The Speedway messed with/handed Team Penske some bum pop-off valves. And if you look at it, the theory kinda holds water in my opinion because Al Jr. and Emmo were off the pace with their Lolas and Reynards as well. Now im not one of those conspiracy theorists but given that The Speedway and USAC got egged quite thoroughly in 1994 ... lets just say some vengence/punishment on their part wouldnt suprise me

Team Penske has already bought a '95 Reynard, a '94 Reynard and a '94 Lola because the speed never came on the Penske PC24.
-
Why isn't auto-racing like this anymore?
-
didnt Penske actually purchase a couple of Reynards before the 2nd week of qualifications as i recall?
-
3:22 this whole description can also be referred to as todays "red option tires" they just didnt call it that.
-
too slow both cars failed to make the race
-
Because their new Penske suffered from abnormal aerodynamic instability and refused to traverse the Speedway flat-out.
-
Why didn't the Penske cars run?

Wow a $6.5 million budget for 1 race! Now teams can't even get that for the whole season.

Interesting sound from the Menard-badged Buick engine. Sounds like a current-day Grand-Am Daytona Prototype.
Ahh...the good old days of IndyCar racing with multiple brands of chassis, engines, and tires!
