From The National Review Online:
"Is there a way to balance war and the "rule of law"? McCarthy says simply that those we capture must be given "enough" justice — in particular so we can continue to maintain the cooperation of our allies — while the idea must be to win the war. And how well has the Bush administration performed at both administrating the law and prosecuting the war? McCarthy hands out some grades. "

Andrew C. McCarthy is a former federal prosecutor and a Contributor at National Review Online. He writes extensively on a variety of legal, social and political issues for National Review and Commentary, among other publications, as well as providing commentary for various television and radio broadcasts.
He is also the author of the book "Willful Blindness: A Memoir of Jihad".

  • I'm watching McCarthy on cspan right now, seems realistic...and right!

  • Right on: @ 5:39 "I fear Peter that the Legal elites are actually post-sovereign..."

For anyone wanting more Andrew McCarthy, check out his April 2009 article "Beyond Terrorism," which can be found online.

  • But John Kerry said all terrorism should be considered criminal acts and have the FBI handle it all.

Ummmmm.....how many agents are there in the FBI who are investigative personnel? And how many crimes do they already investigate annually?

Ummmm....and how many would we be able to spare to now go after terrorists on foreign soil, with no authority on that foreign soil?

Hmmmm.... Right. Okay. Good idea, Senator.

  • why do muslims cut burn rape maim chop slaughter people animals and plants ?

    Why is shit brown ?

    Why do cats meoww ?

    why do our governments

    lick mohamuds asshole ?

Why do we stand for it ?

  • "why they are terrorists" reminds me of Haaretz's spin on the yeshiva massacre.

  • AGREED!

  • A very insightful video on the legal shortcomings in fighting terrorism.

Andrew McCarthy knows what he is talking about:

"We are the United States of America,

    We are at War,

We have an innate right to Defend ourselves,

    And we need to Win"

    He said it all.

  • Thanks for posting a parting video. We'll see you when you get back, and good luck on the move. Wish you the best.

  • Actually, Lawyers are part of the problem. It may be an over simplification on my part, but;

1-Enemy combatants captured without a uniform, are by definition terrorists, and, or spies.

2-Our Rights should NOT be granted to these people, and therefore their fate should be totally at our discretion.

When some of our politicians worry more about the terrorists Rights than their own people, those politicians SHOULD be worried about being REMOVED from office...

  • "Smoke them out"! no shit. When our Politicians start acting like Americans and not Global Citizens...this 'execution' will happen.
