In this study, Sharon Hamilton will work with you on some basic set-up and lighting techniques which can be used for almost any still life subject. The pomegranate set-up is then used as a basis for for a sketch or tracing. You will learn about grisaille and about using Traditions in an extended blendable form. Texture, working with a mottled background and wood grain are all covered in the lessons. Then learn to glaze thin, transparent layers of color over the grisaille to create depth and pizazz.

I love it, it's a nice change to see a painting done in real time.
Great work, thank you.

Very nice demonstration, and I love that background technique, I want to start using that in my surreal paintings more! I'm really liking this Dutch master method here...is this the same as the Flemish method? Thx!
