3-2 garden maze to 3-4 end

Putfile Version: http://media.putfile.com/Resident-Evil-4-Chapter-3-SS-Speedrun-plan

3-2
Not much to comment on, garden is easy with the "look at the sky" trick (dogs don't jump at you if they aren't on screen)
Mistakes: None

3-3
Got hit a few times, probably shouldn't have healed at that last hit (Leon regains full health in chapter 4-1), but whatever.

Mistakes: None

3-4
I free Ashley and defend her very quickly.

Mistakes: None.

  • I will, but I'm too busy playin Brawl. I promise I will have Chapter 4 up by the end of this week.

  • Scratch that. Novistadors keep ruining me whenever I record, and I want nothing less than a perfect run through that cave. Ill spend the rest of today and Sunday trying to get a good segment up.

  • this game is difficult depending on what you do?.....also...back in video 1...how do u get the scene with the bell ringing to happen so fast...it takes me around 7 mins of killing villagers to get the bell to ring so they go away...so how do u do it?

  • In every mode except for professional, the game alters the difficulty, so that when your "sucking" at the game, it lowers the ganados health, makes them spawn less plaga, etc. If you kill 50 ganados without taking a hit, and you have 500 shotgun shells in your inventory, the game will give ganados the maximum amount of hp it can give them.

A good example I can think of is blade Plagas. When your health is green, but just above the caution point, a hit from blade plagas may or may not kill you.

  • You should get into the habit of using Torao's quick turns. Turn the camera, aim for a split second, run forward. Bit faster than pivoting in place.

  • Where exactly should I use a quick turn?

  • wow...i like that thats really cool...also are u gonna finish this run....or do u just not have the time ATM

  • ladder at 2:45 is a good example, use one directly after climbing. Pretty much anywhere you'd have to make a sharp turn.

  • As far as I know, only a few things effect the difficulty adjustment:

-Amount of stuff in your inventory

    -Amount of enemies you've killed

    -Amount of times you've died

-How many times you've been hit

-(for damage calculation only) how much life you have remaining

So getting hit+wasting a herb lowers the difficulty more than just wasting an herb. Also, I believe your current health is only used to decide how much damage you take (ofcourse other things factor in too.)

  • Hmm... just think aloud (figuratively =P), but if you really wanted to get rid of the herb you could just as easily discard it at that point. Have you found out for sure whether healing affects difficulty adjustment more than the amount of herbs in your case?
