This video is for the purpose of entertainment only.

The various images used within this video are taken from photos and scans of my original French vinyl LP jacket/cover, and labels - Ocean "God's Clown" (1976) on the Crypto/RCA record label ZAL 6416.

The band lineup on the "God's Clown" LP was as follows...

Georges Bodossian - Guitar, Synthesizer,Vocals
Noël Alberola - Bass Guitar, Vocals
Bernard Leroy - Drums
Robert Belmonte - Vocals, Percussion

French quartet OCEAN was founded in 1974 by guitarist/keyboardist George Bodossian. Their first album, God's Clown was released in 1976 by the French RCA subsidiary label "Crypto". Sung entirely in English, the album blends clear hard rock LED ZEPPELIN / URIAH HEEP type references (such as the Plant/Byron-like vocals of singer Robert Belmonte) with KING CRIMSON and other progressive influences.

Ocean released four albums between 1976-81...three studio, and one live;

God's Clown - 1976
"A" Live + B - 1979
Océan - 1980
Océan - 1981

  • Thanks for good french hard-rock band! I listened Ocean first time. Did you tube their other songs ?

  • @Denysdnepr

Thanks...glad you enjoyed my video :)

I'm not sure if anyone has uploaded any of their other songs. My advice is go to a music related discography type website that lists some Ocean's albums, and cut/paste the song titles into the search box here at YouTube.

    Cheers :)

  • Totally loved it. The vocal remind me of the 1st Uriah Heep LP, Great stuff. How about some background info please.

Click on the "Show More" info tab below the player. As with all my videos, I try to include some sort of band history/biography. There's also a fair bit of "Ocean" info on the net :)...not to be confused with the early 70's Canadian band of the same name, Lol..."Put Your Hand In The Hand" bla bla bla :)

  • That opening riff sure reminds me of 'Primus'...15 years prior to" Primus" releasing anything. Maybe Les Claypool was an" Ocean" fan?
