www.setsail.com I was on Monowai during the June Storm1994. Shots taken of 'Ramtha' during the Queens birthday storm in June 1994 in South Pacific.
The two crew of 'Ramtha' were taken off at their request by the crew of Monowai using a line fired across by rifle. Stong Cat.

  • I'm just another "Yank" having fun at someone elses expense. No harm, no foul. Actually sipping a few cocktails enjoying the heavy weather videos and spied some rather dark comments about Yanks. I must admit, that I wondered if "YA'LL WEREN'T" Aussies or New Zealanders. Didn't matter, ya'lls talk funny to me. G'day, Cap'n:-)

  • @taz7965 No worries, enjoy.

  • @taz7965 @taz7965 Your wrong. Wrong hemisphere. Wrong nationalities. Wrong attitude. Three wrongs don't make it right. Don't you hate being wrong. Are you wrong all the time?

  • I'm a simples seaman and I was already of the 2 sides. Perhaps, I will be again.

  • @fernando5821 From "LIfe in a Blue Suit", the account of this rescue by the captain of the ship that pulled these people: "They indicated that they had taken a very large roll, lost the little bit of mainsail that they had out, their steering had been damaged and they now considered their situation to be dire. They asked if they could be taken off."

    Armchair expert, you.

  • @taz7965 The guys in this video arn't brits.

As a interseting fact, did you know that most of the USCG inshore rescue boats (IE the 47') were designed in the UK? Infact one of your ship classes was given to the US by the RNLI!

  • arghhhh... this fuc*ing music is geting on my nerves :@

  • lash yourself into the lee sheet bunk, thermos of coffee with rum, and remember when you bought that catamaran , you should have bought a mono hull. If that cat flips , well , by by.

  • always step up in to a life raft

  • The book about this tragedy of a weekend is an excellent read. There are a couple of really good lessons to be learned as well. Primarly , that people give up before thier boats do. "rescue in the pacific- Tony Farrington (sp?) "
