  • the rider was robbed

  • @horseboy3 with western leg yielding and neck reigning, much of the stuff that english riders do with their reins, western riders do with their legs so the reins dont need to be tight at all

  • LOL "she hit that one and didn't go to the moon, thats good!" haha.

=) very insightful. Very good tips and techniques :D

  • sr, I agree! My first horse was a hot tempered QH mare... She was awesome, but because of her hard begining, she had a screw loose... I loved her till she died, and I still love her lots... However, my friends had "push button horses" they would ride with no helmets , etc... I always wore a helmet, and yes it saved my butt tons of times.. Plus I evented so alota times outsdie on x-country I had a vest too... Better safe than sorry! and I make my kids always wear a helmet now :)

  • It looks like the rider was wearing a baseball cap not a helmet. I prefer to see riders wearing a helmet. A helmet has saved me a couple of times. These concepts are good, but hard to do when a horse is really spooked because a rider will often get nervous and not respond the way he/she should. It takes practice to learn to deal with a horse that spooks. You can learn to read the cues, but this doesn't always prevent a spook.

  • not in a normal seat, shes got her reins a bit tight, probly nerves.

  • I thought this video was insightful and I learned a great deal,as the horse huggers out there would of raised a stink to really spook a horse for filming, if you watch the ears they will tell all, not showing a horse blowing up, by doing this you can KEEP from being full blow spook !! Plus the one rein stop is a basic all should learn as this is the emergency brake if the small signs of a spook go UN noticed then you have a back up plan to keep your horse under control. GREAT STUFF need MORE !

  • Thanks for your clip....It is great! have you seen Pol Blane's You Tube clip? She is from Australia and she also does amazing things with difficult horse. Keep up the good work!

  • aren't the reins a little longer than usual?

  • I've been receiving your training tips for a good while now and they've always been right on the money and insightful. I've sent your link to many of my clients because the information you share has been potentially very helpful and they could benefit from your trainers tapes, BUT.... I'm gonna have to go with these guys in that this video isn't and example of a spooky horse...even a little bit.

The video addition is an excellent idea so don't let it diminish your credibility. Share a bit more.
