i was only 13 in 1981. not a girl - not yet a woman. i just loved singing this song. as i grew up i learned what the meaning was -- which caused me to embrace everla so much more. i can still be led to cry. at least now the tears are happy ones. it was an age of purity.

The favorite song of the girls (way back then) in a club in Roch, NY when I was there. Made me fall in love too many times. Great lyrics and tune.

This is one of the greatest songs ever written and I can think of about a hundred songs this is better than. It should have been a number one hit. Why it wasn't I'll never know but come on -- My Sharona was better than this? Except for the guitar riff Sharona sucks. I'm just using that as an example.
