Homemade Christmas Cookies (Plätzchen) here Hilda Brötchen / Bredle

For the dough you need:

300g flour
150g butter
120g sugar
1 vanilla sugar
1 egg

Glazing:
125g Sugar powder
2Sp. Water

Filling:
Any Marmelade will do, we prefer
quince
cherry
raspberry

1) Knead
2) Put into Fridge for 1h....
3) Roll
4) Cut the cookies, one with a hole + one without
5) Put them in the oven for 12 min (150°C=302F)
6) Glaze the top (the one with the hole)
7) Put some Jelly on the bottom (the one without the hole)
8) Put it together

  • I can attest that these cookies taste delicious. Last Christmas I had the chance to get some of these, baked by Sara herself !

    Actually, I received a whole box full of different Christmas cookies ... they were all gone within 2 or 3 days :-)

  • Just made these. I added a teaspoon of nutmeg and a teaspoon of almond extract. The dough was very soft even after cooling for an hour and i had to add more than a cup more of flour to roll it. They tasted great but were very brittle and easily crumbled as we ate them. I think they need like one more egg
