Qualcomm shows us what their upcoming Snapdragon MSM8660 dual-core processor and chipset can do. We get to spend a little time with the Snapdragon dual-core developer phone at CES 2011, and it's impressive. The dual-core snapdragon can do 3D video decoding and encoding, full 1080p HD resolution via HDMI-out, mirror mode, and has asynchronous core clocking. We can't wait to see this stuff hit market!

@Kookas SOCs (SOC being short for System on chip) like the Snapdragon series or nVidia's Tegra series do have a "dedicated" GPU, but not in the sense of a separate chip; they use a separate core within the single SOC die. Look up Adreno for Qualcomm's Snapdragon, for instance. Using a discrete GPU in the same sense as your desktop or laptop, with a completely separate chip, would be too power-hungry and require too much additional motherboard work to be useful or in a mobile device.

that thing will have huge power issues... prepare to have to charge every 12 seconds

Does this have a dedicated GPU? A dual-core processor is impressive, but gaming won't reach console quality without a dedicated GPU.
