This video demonstrates how to create a 301 Moved Permanently web server status response in Microsoft's Internet Information Server. This is very important if you change the filename of a web page that has already been indexed by the search engines. You should create a 301 redirect to preserve your page rank.

  • This is Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003?

  • Windows Server 2003, although it would be a similar process for Windows 2000 Server and IIS 5.0.

  • great video..

my website is ranking on 1st page of google for some keywords, and I want to lease it to my friend and redirect my website to friends website (his website is optimized to same keywords as mine).

Will 301 redirect lose my backlink juice? After 301 redirect will his website now rank on 1st page of google to the same keywords?

Which is the best way to lease my website to my friends website with out losing the 1st page ranking for the keywords?
