it's just personal preference. Any kind of rock...whether it be August Burns Red or Hinder, is AT LEAST, real music, coming from real instruments, being played by real people. And fans of rock should unite against bullshit like LMFAO, MIA, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, etc. That' where the real problem lies in popular music, my friend.

ya know, landonkrulezgood, not everybody listens to music for the same reason. I listen to Nickelback and alot of similar hard rock. I dont care to take days trying to interpret convoluted lyrics. I dont care that 99.9% of the songs are in 4/4 time. I dont give a shit that there's not complicated breakdowns and changes in time signature. I fucking LOVE the crunch of power chords and bombastic drums. I'd rather hear a gut punching A chord than listen to Arcade Fire any day.

@NitrodrumlineKC The only reason I say this is because Nickelback has to be one of the top 10 in the worlds so called "leading bands." What the fuck happened to music. Just because a song is catchy and talks about some faggots paryting doesn't make it music. That shit is not true music or music with emotion. If Nickelback wasn't so popular, I would leave it. But people have to praise them of their "talent" because of how popular they are

@NitrodrumlineKC And as far as guitar. Look up animals as leaders, djent bands, mathcore, August burns red, Miss may I, Graham Stookey, Tosin Abasi. Those artists show real emotion and good writing in guitar. And in my opinion, August burns red is the most technical metalcore band, not just with time signatures and tempos, but with their note groupings and diversity. Just come on how easy is it to strum some simple power chords in 4/4 the whole time without changing tempo

@NitrodrumlineKC I'm saying the drummer puts a really good amount of talent and effort in his drumming. But as for chad and the guitarist I would argue differently. So lyrics about sex and getting high and the occasional cliched love song are talent and effort in lyrics. And playing almost only power chord progressions in simple 4/4 time sig is talent on guitar. Look up The devil wears prada or Arcade fire. Even though those are two seperate genres, they require deep thought to interpret lyrics.
