This is typical of mormons not wanting to hear any information that could possibly be adverse to what they have always believed. It is truly amazing every time how people can harden their hearts against learning and check it off as 'anti-mormon'. That is true brainwashing and indicative of people who belong to a cult. If mormons were actually Christian and honest with themselves, they would welcome the chance to talk with Rob and many others about truth. But like the kids in the video...nah.

It's like watching a bully...everyone should juat take a breath and realize that this is an example of evangelical brainwashing...he's entirely unaware of any other points of veiw and cannot reason properly...Christ would likely love such individuals so much that they can regain control of theor faculties...love enables others to come to Christ

@rjpilch Gordon B. Hinckley didn't lie or hide anything. He simply said he didn't know. You're the one that just lied. We do learn that Joseph Smith was married to more than one wife. Going to you won't bring anyone to the truth of anything.
-
@rjpilch In other words you give your version of so-called "official LDS doctrine". I've seen what people like you claim we believe. Trust me, you do not give LDS doctrine.
@"Rob is married to a former Mormon and lives in Salt Lake. Many of my associates are former Mormons. Would like to talk to them too?"
Do you know how many times I've heard that crap? Being an ex-mormon doesn't mean you know all about the church.
-
I wonder if Rob would have accused Abraham, David, and Solomon of not being real men of God since they had more than one wife. Solomon had 700.

@PCEggo Well spoken. The Book of Mormon is awesome, and there is no doubt here. Sometimes I think that if I hear one more Evangelical assert that "faith alone" baloney I'm going to wish him to drown in the sea of ignorance. And then when I am thinking rationally, all I can do is feel pity because they refuse to listen.
-
@allzago ya, as mormons we admit that the Bible by itself is open to all different sorts of interpretation, which is why we claim the need for additional revealed scripture. without our restoration scriptures like the book of mormon, ours is just another interpretation in a sea of many.
-
@lindalds Good to see you standing up for lds beliefs. The problem with this screecher preacher is he is likely from the school of thought that thinks all there is to know is between the two lids of the bible. To make it worse, he thinks his interpretation of it is the correct one. It's a tired position that is losing steam - or hot air - however you want to think of it.

@lindalds Your hubby is 2nd assistant in the HP group? Cool! That what I am in my ward, LOL. Tell hubby hi for me.

@ReformedEvangelist No, I don't have that much knowledge of the gospel, plus I don't reject the gospel. I have not put off repentance of any of my sins. Unless you are referring to repenting of being a Mormon, in which case, your post makes no sense. If being a Mormon is a sin, then there is no such thing as Outer Darkness, or the Terrestrial Kingdom. And if I'm right, I have nothing to worry about.
You know, if someone is going to do something like this, they should do their homework, first. I have no doubt, 99% of the Mormons that heard this were scratching theri heads and wondering, "What IS that guy talking about?" If you are going to preach against what Mormons believe, you need to first KNOW what Mormons believe, and this guy doesn't seem to know what Mormons believe. He only knows what the anti-Mormons SAY Mormons believe.

1st) Rob Sivulka and people like myself, get our information from Mormon sources (BOM, D&C, POGP, LOF, JOD, etc), and we read the books that your presidents publish too. 2nd) We find that many Mormons do not know "Official LDS doctrine", so we have to educate them, since many have their pet doctrines and do not believe the words in the BOM. 3rd) Rob is married to a former Mormon and lives in Salt Lake. Many of my associates are former Mormons. Would like to talk to them too?

I joined the LDS church in 1979. I was 21 years old (you do the math).
30 active years of Sunday School, Relief Society, Institute classes, General and Stake conferences, scripture study, and almost 25 years of attending the temple.
WHEN am I ever going to be taught this "official LDS doctrine" that this guy talks about, but I have NEVER been taught in my church? BTW, same stats for my husband. He is now the 2nd assistant in the High Priests group. So, no help there.
When?

The LDS church is very good at hiding its history and doctrine, just look at Gordon B. Hinckleys answers when questioned by the press about whether man can become a god, and whether or not God was once a man. The church has never really acknowledged that Smith had scores(34-85?) of wives (11 were currently married to other men too-- See "In Sacred Loneliness by Todd Compton) If you really are looking for truth, you can always call me at 253-279-1535 or call one of my friends.

They aren't hiding anything. Just because they don't explain things the way you think they should does not mean they are hiding anything.
I liked all the answers he gave. he explained things quite well.
I don't have to call you to get the truth. You don't know the truth. You just think you do.
I know the truth. I'll call you if you want to hear the truth.

Go ahead and call me, I would like to hear the truth.
