Hard to believe that, what, about 40% of all flying done in the United States is done by third-party regional airlines that aren't even affiliated with the majors.
I'm actually kind of relieved that my eyesight is just under TC regulations for the CPL/ATR licensing requirements. I'd hate to be stuck flying a CRJ or Dash for 10-12 years. I'll stick to my King Air.

The guy who made this video and many more like it is a regional airline pilot called Yeasher.

I remember watching this a few years ago....glad to see its back. As a regional FO for several years now...yeah that pretty well sums it up.

Ah man, watching this video makes me thank my lucky stars for not going into this job. I even briefly attended flight school and left before I spent too much money. All I can say is thank god I quit..... phew
One way to kinda avoid this (at least the "underpaid" part) is to do a boots-on-the-ground hunting for a Lear 35 job somewhere close to home. Air-ambulance etc. They might fly you a lot during one day, but at least, if they're a good company, they'll pay you decent money your first year and give you a fair amount of time off.

@BadgemanDFW I work for an air ambulance operator and the pay is good (70-90K) but the requirements are 2500TT, 1000ME and 200 turbine.

@anguissette if you dont mind my asking, what air ambulance outfit pays that well? ive never heard of their pay being anywhere close to that lol

@aobt1407 I'm not going to say which one I work for, but most pay close to that. Eagle Med starts at 70k on the King Air, Omniflight close to 60 for the pilatus, captains on the hawker at AirMed make more than 100k. Even the mom and pop places flying piston equipment like 421/402s make close to 50.
