SONG:AAJA RE AA ZARA
MUSIC:SHANKAR JAIKISHAN
LYRICS:HASRAT JAIPURI
SINGER:MOHAMMAD RAFI
FILM:LOVE IN TOKYO

Love In Tokyo is a 1966 Hindi Bollywood film that became a hit at the box office. It was directed and produced by Pramod Chakravorty. The film stars Joy Mukherjee, Asha Parekh, Pran, Mehmood, Lalita Pawar, Asit Sen and Madan Puri. The music was given by Shankar Jaikishan while the lyrics were written by Hasrat Jaipuri

Joy Mukherjee is the son of Sashadhar Mukherjee and Sati Devi. His father was a successful producer and a co-founder of Filmistan Studios. His paternal uncle is director Subodh Mukherjee, whilst his maternal uncles were Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar.

His brothers are Deb Mukherjee and Shomu Mukherjee who was married to actress Tanuja. Their daughters are actresses Kajol and Tanisha. His niece is Rani Mukerji and nephew is her cousin, director Ayan Mukerji.

Joy was paired up with Sadhana in the film Love in Simla (1960) directed by R.K. Nayyar. He pointed to the tall and good looking man .After Love in Simla, he paired up with Asha Parekh for several hits like Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon,Love In Tokyo and Ziddi.

In the late 60's roles for Joy started drying up as stars such as Dharmendra, Jeetendra and Rajesh Khanna grew in popularity.

Joy then produced and directed Humsaaya but the movie did not do well and his subsequent films as producer or director did not do too well.

Despite a late success with home production Ek Baar Muskura Do (1972) with brother Deb Mukherjee and later to be sister-in-law Tanuja, Joy faded from the film scene.

His last success came with him directing Chailla Babu, a film starring Zeenat Aman and Rajesh Khanna.

  • UNFORGETABLE RAFI SAAB'S SONG. LOVE IT.

    THANKS JEMAL FOR SHARING.

  • Rafi ji with his very romantic voice has succeeded to make this beautiful song very popular. Like 50's,60's also had unique charm which we can see in that time's films, lead pairs, and music. The Bollywood Queens ,Asha,Saira,Sadhna and Sharmila of 60's expressed so much, charm, style and oonf. with their personalities and songs picturized on them.

Joy Mukhrajee another actor to worship Shammi Kapoor followed Shammi ji's style of acting .Thanks Jemal ji. Thumbs Up. Love.Sis. Sarla.
